“Better to be safe than sorry” .Nothing is more crucial than your life and to ensure its safety is very important and is the prime objective. There is a saying in Hindi “jaan hai tho jahan hai“means that if you are fit and fine than every new day is a new opportunity. In world according to W.H.O (world health organization) one million people die every year due to road accidents and in India there is one death every four minute due to road accidents. Lack of safety measures not only risk lives but also causes harm to property. The basic strategy of a Safe System approach is to ensure that in the event of a crash, the impact energies remain below the threshold likely to produce either death or serious injury.
There are some safety rules on road that one must follow:
1. Don’t drink and drive
Drinking and driving is one of the leading causes of road fatalities. Many youngsters find it cool to drink while driving but it can risk their life. Alcohol affects our ability of decision making and therefore you must not drink and drive.
2. Road rules for little passengers!
In India 6 children die daily due to road accidents. One should teach their children the basic road rules and how to be attentive while crossing road.
3. Be safe drive smart!
One must use helmets while driving two wheelers and put seat belts while driving four wheelers. It will protect you even after a crash.
4. Prepare to stop!
Don’t drive recklessly; you must be complying with some speed limit. Driving with a rocket speed will not make you a hero.
5. Study traffic signs!
Slow down on a speed breaker and turns. Carefully study all the sign boards and directions given on the road to avoid risk of any kind of accidents.
6. Trust me you can afford a missed call!
You must not use mobile phones or any other electronic gadget while driving vehicles.
7. Chance takers are accident maker!
Punctuality is a good habit but don’t risk your life in the hurry to reach on time. Leave on time and reach on time. Avoid overtaking at busy road this can be really dangerous. Your family is waiting for you.
